Program Description

Event Details

The Marquis de Lafayette played a pivotal role in the American War for Independence. In 1824, President James Monroe invited Lafayette back to the United States to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Revolutionary War and to reignite patriotism. Of the many sites that he visited during this tour, were Port Deposit and Havre de Grace. In July 2025, we will be celebrating the bicentennial of those visits. Join Dr. Amy Rosenkrans to learn about the history of Lafayette in Cecil and Harford Counties and how to participate in the commemorative events.
